Is the Non-Dysfunctional Family a Myth? Night Stories

I’m curious: what does a non-dysfunctional family look like? My dad was an alcoholic. He died from this damned sickness. His parents did, too. Both of them. My mom has the same addiction, plus a whole bunch of other issues. Wait—we’ll get to me and my own quirks later. But I grew up in a broken home that felt like hell. My cousins’ dad drank, too. My classmates either didn’t have fathers, or their dads had the same “talent” as mine, or they were abusers. One boy’s mom left him with a grandmother for the sake of a new husband. Another friend of mine abandoned her daughter with the father to go find a new love. And now, I’m standing guard by the bathroom so my son doesn’t waste water. I heard somewhere that this kind of control is a sign of a dysfunctional family. So, I guess I follow the same pattern now. Not because I’m stingy with the water, though. I’m here because our power grid is being shelled, electricity is hit-or-miss, and we have one 50-liter water heater for everyone. There a...

Guide to Action to Get the Money Result

The internet is overflowing with articles offering advice on finally achieving something and earning money. They might tell you to write a book using AI or create a coloring book and earn thousands of dollars of money selling it on Amazon. Or they may sell you courses on IT, web design, cryptocurrency, etc. In reality, these tactics often prey on your insecurities, exploiting your vulnerabilities to profit from you.

If books on Amazon bring authors thousands of dollars in actual money, why would they also sell a course on “how to create a book”? Think about it for a moment.

And no, I’m not against Amazon, books, guides, design templates, or other attempts to earn an extra source of passive income. But we’re here to finally get a practical answer: what do we do to get results from something, to finally get some money?

The answer is as simple and obvious as daylight: to get a result, actually do something!

Action Plan

Not everyone follows the steps I’m about to suggest. In fact, almost no one goes through them. And this is precisely why you haven’t yet achieved your results: you don’t go from the beginning until the end. Those who have followed them are now on their third or tenth round of doing so, and they’re the ones who get the money.

Now for the specifics:

Step 1: Identify your strengths. Maybe you’re a cleaning whiz like no other. Perhaps you can choose mass-market makeup and create a fantastic makeup case. Or maybe you understand internal combustion engines. Or you build World War II tank models brilliantly. Think about it, and you’ll find your unique talent, which could become a money source.

Step 2: Consider the format. Would you like to develop an Instagram presence, or perhaps you want to create a guide for Amazon to sell for real money? It’s important not to scatter your attention here. Choose one thing. Seriously, it takes a lot of work to keep Instagram up to par. Don’t spread yourself too thin! Focus on one, and get your result.

Step 3: Set aside the time you can dedicate to developing your dream of making money. For example, an hour a day. Or a whole day a week. Herein lies our main enemy: neglecting it. You can’t neglect your own schedule! Discipline, damn it, plays a key role and will be decisive: will you reach your results and goals?

Step 4: Keep going without stopping. If people tell you that you’re doing nonsense, then okay, it’s nonsense. But it’s your nonsense and your life. And they will definitely tell you that! Also, the result won’t come immediately. There won’t be quick results. What’s fast is fleeting. And you want to get a solid source of income, right?

Step 5: Believe in yourself! The main thing is not to harm people. And everything else will sooner or later work and bring results in real money.

That’s about it. If you go through all these steps, there will definitely be a result. I’m also scared of the path. But I’m going through it stubbornly and gradually.

See you at the finish line!

Should Writer Have Principles?

Today, I’m going to share with you my thoughts. But before I get started, I must say that I don’t judge anyone. I’m not in your shoes, and who knows where my destiny will lead my life steps and what decisions I will have to make. The Main Principle For Everyone in This World Let me put it plainly: the fundamental principle. Moreover, if this were the main principle of humanity, we would not have problems now. And we wouldn’t find ourselves in a world where peace is guaranteed only by a nuclear bomb. So, the principle, ladies and gentlemen: do no harm. Yes, I took it from the Hippocratic oath. When I was learning to drive, during the section on first aid for drivers while waiting for an ambulance, the nurse who taught the lesson emphasized several times: do no harm! Don’t do it if you don’t know if you can apply a tourniquet correctly. Because you can kill a person. Who knew that the ability to use a tourniquet in my country would become so necessary, say more critical, in six months? B...

Don't Bend to Ever-Changing World

They were born back in 1997 in the song “One Day the World Will Bend to Us,” and I’ve been humming it ever since. Here is what I want to tell you. I’m clearly no Makarevich; I haven’t been living this life quite as long. But I’ve seen dozens of trends and even more people trying their hardest to “ride the wave” for a fleeting moment of fame. I’m not saying you shouldn’t follow trends, because that’s a personal choice. But what I’ve definitely witnessed over the years is that professionalism and mastery work much better than trying to be louder than a hype noise. As a regular LinkedIn user, my eyes are practically bleeding from seeing the same topics over and over. Or rather, one specific topic. I won’t even type its name this late at night. But no matter what, a human is still a human. A human has emotions. We can tell the same story sadly or joyfully, depending on the mood. We understand sarcasm. And it is a human who grasps the true, underlying meanings. So use your gift to be a huma...

Unobvious Web Writing Hack

In my web writing work, I’ve developed one simple rule. My hack has proven its effectiveness time and time again. Subscribe to my blog while you’re here, and in the meantime, I’ll tell you about my unobvious writing hack. Let me start with a bit of backstory. The Backstory Behind My Web Writing Hack Discovery I once had a client who was a fan of what I call “rigid SEO.” It is my category for a certain type of creative brief I receive. “Rigid SEO” is when a client demands you use keywords exactly as they are written for direct, exact-match placement, even if it’s grammatically incorrect, sounds unnatural, or feels bizarre. But a task is a task, so I got down to web content writing. After receiving a brief like this, I started gathering information. I always do so because my intuitive approach to web writing has never failed me. Once I’ve collected enough material, the core idea for the article comes to me on its own. So, I read and delved deep into the topic and opened a Google Doc to s...
